Mounting, Balancing
Exhaust manifolds, turbo manifolds and downpipes can radiate huge amounts of heat into the engine bay. That heat can raise intake temperatures, cook nearby hoses, make wiring brittle, damage paint, warm brake or clutch lines, and make the car less reliable when used hard.
Exoracing exhaust wrap helps keep more heat inside the exhaust pipe instead of letting it radiate into nearby components. This can reduce engine bay heat, improve component protection and make the area around the manifold, turbo or downpipe easier to manage.
It is especially useful on turbo cars, track cars, drift cars, K swaps, engine swapped builds, tight engine bays and cars where the exhaust runs close to wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, coolant hoses or bodywork.
For best results, use an exhaust wrap to control heat at the source, then use Exoracing silicone fibreglass heat sleeve on nearby hoses, wiring or lines that still need direct protection.
Exhaust wrap is best when you want to control heat at the exhaust source by wrapping the manifold, downpipe or pipework. Heat sleeve is better for protecting individual hoses, wiring or lines. A heat shield is better for protecting a wider panel, firewall, bulkhead or underbody area.

Exhaust wrap is straightforward to install, but preparation matters. Wear gloves, wet the wrap, pull it tight and keep the overlap consistent.
Installation difficulty: simple to moderate DIY item, depending on access. Manifolds with tight runners take longer than straight downpipes.
Use a 5cm wrap for most downpipes, straight exhaust sections and larger manifold runners. Use a 2.5cm wrap for tighter bends, smaller runners and awkward manifold sections where a wider wrap is hard to pull neatly around the pipe.
It depends on pipe diameter, pipe length, overlap, bends and whether you are wrapping a single pipe or manifold runners. Measure first and allow extra material for overlap and mistakes. We would recommend using the Exoracing exhaust wrap calculator to estimate the length needed.
Light smoke during the first heat cycles is normal. It is usually moisture and manufacturing residue burning off after the wrap has been soaked and heated.
No. Once the exhaust wrap has been heat cycled and removed, it should not be reused.
It can reduce the radiant heat coming from the exhaust, which helps protect nearby components. If a hose, cable or line is still very close to the heat source, add a suitable heat sleeve as well.
The product includes 4 stainless steel cable ties. For manifolds, multiple runners, long sections or complex installs, extra stainless steel ties are sensible so every start, end and join is secured properly.
