HEL product information

The HEL Performance Mercedes 116 Series braided brake line kit has been manufactured in-house, assembled, and machine-crimped directly onto high-quality stainless steel braided hose ensuring an exact match to your standard brake hoses. Each HEL brake line kit arrives complete with every essential component, resulting in a smooth and straightforward installation.

What are the Benefits?

• Eliminates soft, sponge-like braking and delivers consistent performance Standard rubber brake hoses expand under pressure, especially during harsh braking, resulting in a soft, and unpredictable brake pedal feel. Featuring a 3-layer construction, HEL braided brake hoses can withstand both extreme pressures and temperatures generated during demanding conditions, promoting new levels of braking response, modulation, and control. Standard rubber brake hoses have a lifespan of about 5 years before needing to be replaced. Why settle for inferior brake lines when HEL replacements, priced similarly, offer a lifetime of reliability?
• Unrivalled durability and abrasion resistance While other manufacturers cut corners with zinc-plated fittings, HEL takes pride in manufacturing every brake hose fitting in-house using high-quality 303/304 grade stainless steel. HEL braided brake hoses feature a robust PTFE inner core, renowned for its exceptional chemical resistance and extreme temperature tolerance. Unlike traditional rubber hoses, the PTFE core shields against perishing or cracking, even over long periods of time. Reinforcing the PTFE core is a high-strength stainless steel overbraid, providing further protection against wear and tear. As a final layer of safeguarding, a clear or coloured wipe-clean PVC cover finishes the hose neatly and protects body panels and paintwork from becoming marred or scratched.
• Built to last, backed by the no-quibble HEL Lifetime Warranty Having full control over the in-house manufacturing process puts HEL in the position to promise you that there is no doubt in their quality, and it is something HEL is extremely proud of. All HEL brake hoses are tested to extremes in the laboratory, and on the racetrack, where they're proven time and time again.
• Enhanced aesthetics and customisation With multiple hose colour options available, you have the freedom to customise your brake line kit to coordinate with your colour scheme. If you prefer the OEM look, classic opaque Black seamlessly blends in. However, for those looking to make a statement, HEL offers a diverse range of colours to complement most preferences.
• HEL's unique, trend-setting hose fitting and ferrule design Every HEL Performance brake line fitting features a unique internal multi-groove design. During the assembly process, as the hose fitting and ferrule are swaged onto the hose, the PTFE inner core is pushed into three internal grooves. These grooves are dual-purpose: they form internal sealing o-rings and they enable the free and secure rotation of the fittings post-hydraulic swaging. This innovative design not only maintains the integrity of the hose but also guarantees that the fittings remain securely in place. In bespoke applications, this promotes the ability to cleverly rotate the fittings whilst in position to finesse the fitment. The hose ferrule features an internally located locking groove, which securely aligns with a channel on the hose fitting. Once swaged together, this mechanism ensures that the hose fitting will never detach from the hose.
