After extensive development work on a number of modern performance platforms, we turned our attention to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X – a car renowned for its performance potential, but also well known for elevated oil temperatures when driven hard. With very few well-engineered off-the-shelf solutions available, we set out to design a properly integrated oil cooling upgrade.
From the outset, our aim was to create a direct-fit oil cooler kit that offers maximum cooling efficiency without compromising OEM functionality. To achieve this, the Evo X engine bay was fully 3D scanned, allowing us to design a solution that fits precisely and makes use of the available space.
The result is a pair of custom-manufactured aluminium mounting brackets that allow the oil cooler to be securely mounted while retaining the factory air ducting. This ensures that airflow is managed exactly as Mitsubishi intended, directing clean, high-pressure air straight through the cooler for optimal heat rejection.
The kit is based around the Swedish-manufactured Setrab Series 6 ProLine oil cooler, upgraded to a 25-row core to meet the demands of sustained high-load use. This larger core provides a significant increase in cooling capacity while maintaining excellent flow characteristics and minimal pressure drop – ideal for fast road and track-driven Evo Xs.

This comprehensive kit is supplied with pre-assembled HEL braided hoses and anodised aluminium fittings for a clean, professional installation. High-flow AN10 hoses route oil from the engine to the cooler via a non-thermostatic sandwich plate and an inline thermostat, ensuring consistent and controlled oil temperatures. Full installation guidance is provided, including clear diagrams showing bracket and thermostat placement.
